How to use Free Domain Mail: a 5-step setup

Free Domain Mail gives a domain you already own a lightweight browser mailbox. This guide explains the complete setup shown in the video, including what to prepare, which DNS record groups are required and how to verify the result safely.

Create an account without a credit card, open Manage, and enter a domain that you own. You keep the domain at its current registrar and continue managing DNS with the authoritative provider.
Free Domain Mail creates domain-specific verification and email records. Never reuse record values from another domain.
2. Publish all five DNS record groups
Add the ownership TXT record, MX for receiving, SPF for sending permission, the supplied DKIM CNAME records and DMARC for reporting and policy.
Preserve unrelated website records. If an SPF policy already exists, merge every legitimate sender into one SPF record instead of publishing a duplicate.
3. Check DNS and create the mailbox
After saving every record, use the final verification step or the public DNS Checker. DNS caches may continue returning an older value until the previous TTL expires.
When the domain is ready, create an address such as hello@yourdomain.com and use the webmail interface to read, compose, reply and forward individual messages.
What the beta currently includes
The service is intended for freelancers, developers, solo founders and small projects with low email volume. It provides browser-based mailboxes and guided DNS verification.
IMAP, SMTP, POP3, aliases, catch-all, shared mailboxes, automatic forwarding, bulk campaigns and attachments are not currently available. Sending and receiving are subject to conservative daily limits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Replacing existing website DNS records that are unrelated to email.
- Publishing a second SPF record instead of merging authorized senders.
- Expecting DNS authentication alone to guarantee inbox placement.
- Using a low-volume beta mailbox for marketing, cold outreach or bulk sending.

Do I need to transfer my domain?
No. Keep the domain with its current registrar and add the supplied records at the authoritative DNS provider.
Can I connect Outlook or Apple Mail?
No. Free Domain Mail currently provides webmail only and does not expose IMAP, SMTP or POP3 access.
Is a credit card required?
No. The current beta has no payment flow or card requirement.
